Empowering Advocacy for Youth Voices in collaboration with IRCCG
Youth Invlvement in SDGs at the heart of IRCCG Community
August 18th 2025 marked a mojor milestone on youth engagement in the EYE4SDGs project, wherein the EDISE Mobility team engaged with youth and young persons from the International Roman Catholic Christian Community Ghent.
In a significant step toward inclusive community engagement, the official term of reference for youth participation in a newly formed working group for the project’s implementation was presented to the community after church service.
It is very interesting to note that high interest has been expressed from all age groups within thsi community , on their involvement especially taking a futher look at the SDGs to be addressed within the Ghent Pilot site.
The outreach session conducted by the consortium served as both an invitation and a call to action, encouraging young individuals to step into leadership roles and actively participate in the advocacy and implementation process.
The church, known for its vibrant and diverse congregation, provided an ideal setting to connect with youth from various backgrounds. Attendees were introduced to the objectives of the working group, the importance of youth-led advocacy, and the opportunities available for personal growth and community impact.
The audience at this Christian ceremony was about 130 persons including a good blend of gender and all age group categories represented.
